Ed Curry Named Director Of Sales & Marketing At Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel
Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel has announced the appointment of Ed Curry as director of sales & marketing. With more than 25 years of luxury hospitality experience, Curry oversees all of the beachfront property's strategic sales and marketing efforts.
Curry joined Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel most recently from St. Supery Estate Vineyards & Winery in Napa Valley where he held the role of vice president, marketing & direct sales. Previously, he held an array of senior sales and marketing positions with luxury hoteliers, including director of sales & marketing at The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa (formerly The Ritz-Carlton, Huntington Hotel & Spa), and director of sales & marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey.
Curry's experience also includes a pivotal role as national sales manager of Sun International, where he was on the opening team of Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and associate director of sales at Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Curry began his career as sales manager of Hyatt Regency Hilton Head in 1988.
Manager Named for Holiday Inn New York City - Times Square
M&R Hotel Management today announced the appointment of Tracey Rucks as general manager of the new 271-room Holiday Inn New York City – Times Square at 585 Eighth Ave., between 38th and 39th streets.
Rucks previously served M&R Hotel Management as general manager of the Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Midtown West on West 48th Street. Prior to joining M&R, she was general manager of the Holiday Inn Indianapolis Carmel. From 2010 to 2014, she was general manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan/Fifth Avenue. From 2008 to 2009, she was general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Edison/Raritan Center in New Jersey, and from 2007 to 2008 she was general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn-Danbury in Connecticut.
In 2007, Rucks was an area director of sales for Alliance Hospitality, a hotel owner and management company based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and oversaw sales strategy for nine hotels representing four brands. From 2006 to 2007, she was general manager of the former Holiday Inn Tinton Falls-Eatontown in New Jersey.
David Kuperberg Appointed Chief Development Officer at Début Hotel Group and Hampshire Hotels Management
Début Hotel Group and Hampshire Hotels Management today announced that David Kuperberg has been tapped to lead the development efforts for the Company’s visionary lifestyle brands including Dream Hotels, Time Hotels, Night Hotels, Augustus Hotels and Resorts and Unscripted Hotels.
Kuperberg has been working with the Company since April 2013 and has been integral to the growth of its domestic and international pipeline, including the much-anticipated and soon-to-open Dream Hollywood hotel.
Anthony Kaufman Promoted to Executive Vice President, International Operations for Princess Cruises
Carnival plc announced today that Anthony (Tony) Kaufman has been promoted to the new position of executive vice president, international operations for the Princess Cruises brand. In addition to his continued leadership for the line’s Asia operations, he will now oversee the business in Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe.
In his previous role as senior vice president of Asia operations, Kaufman has been accountable for multiple sales and marketing teams throughout Asia that are focused on growing the Princess brand throughout the region and supporting the brand’s itineraries in China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore. In addition, he developed Princess Cruises’ strong relationships with government authorities, industry associations and business partners in the region. He also facilitated coordination with the many operating departments that support Princess’ growing Asia deployment.
Leven Elevated to Resident Manager at The Nam Hai
The Nam Hai has announced the promotion of Florian Leven from executive assistant manager to resident manager.
Since joining the award-winning resort in May 2014, the 17-year veteran of the international hospitality industry has implemented effective tools for performance and training and played a key role in maintaining quality control and consistency in day-to-day operations.
Leven came to The Nam Hai after a six-year stint in Hawaii, where he served in a variety of roles at Mauni Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows and then at Kahala Hotel & Resort.
Oetker Collection Appoints Jean-Pierre Soutric Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing
Oetker Collection has announced the appointment of Jean-Pierre Soutric to the role of senior vice president sales & marketing, reporting to the CEO.
Having started his career in 1983, Jean-Pierre Soutric has successively held sales and marketing positions with Intercontinental, Hilton International, Exclusive Hotels by Forte and most recently at Four Seasons as director of sales and marketing for the Four Seasons George V Paris and vice president of corporate and travel industry sales, Europe.
