2017 Travvys: A Look Back at the 2016 Best Escorted Tour Operator Winners

Awards season is upon us and the 2017 Travvy Awards are fast-approaching. This relatively new celebration of the travel industry is quickly becoming one of the most celebrated events and the 2017 awards will be no different.

New York’s Gotham Hall will once again set the stage for the Travvy Awards where the coveted gold statuettes will be handed out to a crowd of industry greats on Jan. 25, 2017.

Looking forward to the 2017 Travvy Awards, we are remembering some of the winners that have graced the stage in previous years.

Best Escorted Tour Operator Overall: TRAFALGAR

Trafalgar, a multiple winner in the 2016 Travvys, is one of the longest surviving tour operators, one of the most popular and one of the inventors of what we know as modern tour operating. Founded in 1947, Trafalgar developed a model that worked so well it made the company one of the highest-volume escorted tour operators, offering more than 230 tours in Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Australia. In 2011 the company reinvented itself, creating tours that are fun and effortless, with unique experiences in destinations, including personal meetings with locals. The result has been a spectacular success.

RUNNER-UP: Abercrombie & Kent

Founded in 1962 in Kenya as a safari operator, Abercrombie & Kent today has a network of more than 60 destination management offices around the world. The company offers unique, high-end trips to multiple destinations on every continent in a wide range of travel styles and prices. A&K has also been reinventing itself in recent years with its moderately priced Connections programs, upgraded and expanded private jet programs,
and new and challenging slate of special trips.
