With the 2016 Summer Olympic Games drawing to a close shortly, perhaps your interest in visiting South America has been piqued by the television coverage. If it has, you might be interested in these suggestions from Australia’s Smooth.com.au for tours to try when you visit.
Starting in Rio de Janeiro, Smooth suggests Viator’s Early Access to Christ Redeemer.
This tour, which offers an optional extension of Sugar Loaf Mountain access, allows you to beat the crowds and visit Christ the Redeemer for 30 minutes with a tour guide early in the morning,” writes Sangeeta Kocharekar.
Smooth also recommends a helicopter flight over Iguassu Falls.
“The Iguassu Falls Panoramic Helicopter Flight gives passengers the chance to soar above the magnificent falls and get an exclusive bird’s eye view of waterfalls and the surrounding rainforest for 10 minutes,” says Kocharekar.
For the more adventurous at heart, Smooth suggests paragliding in Rio.
“Take off from Pedra Bonita flight ramp in the Tijuca National Park and land at Pepino Beach in Sao Conrado; you’ll glide over the shimmering coastline and granite peaks while absorbing views of the beaches, mountains and city,” writes Kocharekar.
