Austin Adventures, now operating tours in North America, South America, Africa, Australia and Europe, has now added Asia to its list of destinations.
Austin Adventures opened up for business in Asia with its Mekong River Cruise that went on sale earlier this year. Now through a partnership with Khiri Travel, Austin Adventures has rolled out five new tours in Asia that will visit Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
Khiri Travel is a 20-year old operator that specializes in sustainable, experiential small group adventures in Southeast Asia.
The new programs are:
Sri Lanka — Silk Road Adventure is a 12-day among the islands of Sri Lanka in search of leopards, water buffalo and other exotic wildlife in Wilpattu National Park, including a range of experiences from watching the sunrise on a mountaintop to dining on the beach and watching traditional dance.
Adventurous Bali is an active 13-day trip with hiking, biking and paddleboarding and a range of accommodation styles including a beach resort, a spacious villa and a hotel on a coffee plantation.
Thailand — Bangkok to Krabi is a 12-day tour of Thiland focusing on the cuisine of Bangkok, and biking, snorkeling and kayaking along the coastline en route to Krabi, incuding a visit to Patara Elephant Camp, a hike in Khao Yai National Park and a swim at the base of the waterfall seen in the movie “The Beach.”
Vietnam — Ho Chi Minh to Ha Long Bay is a two-week trip that includes visits to the homes of villagers in Rag Lai, a hike in Bach Ma National Park, a kayak excursion in Ha Long Bay and a visit to the Forbidden Purple City.
Discovering the Spirit of Myanmar is a 12-day trip through the enchanting Asian world of Myanmar, which has only recently become accessible to westerners and immediately soared to the top of must-see lists around the world. The itinerary includes a visit to the gold-plated Shwedagon Pagoda, seeing the floating villages on Inle Lake, biking on the hills of Mandalay, a cruise on the Irrawaddy River and an optional hot air balloon ride over the city of Bagan.
Announced earlier this year is Austin Adventures’ five-day Mekong River Cruise between Saigon, Vietnam, and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, visiting floating villages, Buddhist temples and local markets along the way.
Dan Austin, president of Austin Adventures, and Michael Healy, general manager of Khiri Travel USA will conduct a free webinar on June 18 at 6 p.m. to familiarize attendees with the new Asia programs.
