Collette, the Pawtucket, R.I.-based tour operator, has unveiled its new lineup of river cruise programs to run through 2017.
River cruises continue to be all the rage, ever mounting in popularity, all but taking over the tour industry as its preferred mode of transportation. The popularity of river cruises has grown steadily and vigorously and shows no sign of stopping.
“River cruising is quickly becoming the desired method of travel for many,” said Dan Sullivan, Jr., president and CEO of Collette. “Guests have the opportunity to cruise in style and experience a different destination each day.”
The river cruise is one of the most comfortable ways to travel. On a river cruise you unpack and pack once for the whole trip. Your cabin moves through the countryside along the ancient arteries of trade, through the hearts of cities and villages.
River cruise passengers have the comfort that goes with an ocean cruise, but instead of being out on the ocean remote from the land, river cruise passengers are in the middle of everything. The land is always visible from the ship.
Collette is now offering nine river cruises total, one in Asia, one in Africa and seven in Europe. New this year is Timeless France, which travels on the Saone and Rhone Rivers. Timeless France replaces a river cruise on Portugal’s Douro River, which is being dropped.
The new France program is a response to an increase in interest Collette saw for all its France programs last year. The new Timeless France program travels from France’s Alsace region to Burgundy and Provence and finally to the French Riviera. It’s a 13-day tour with three departures between April and September of 2016.
The company expanded its Rhine River Cruise program with its new Magical Rhine and Moselle program.
Also on Collette’s river cruise docket are:
• Legendary Waterways of Europe
• Springtime Tulip River Cruise
• Classic Danube
• Christmas on the Danube
• Heart of Russia
• Treasures of Egypt
• Wonders of China
