In case you were wondering what kind of an impact travel agents were having on the millennial marketplace, the answer is a big one. This has been evidenced in several surveys that note an uptick in millennials' use of travel agents, but news that Contiki, a tour operator that sells primarily to younger travelers between the ages of 18 and 35, has just joined Ensemble Travel Group as a Preferred Partner in the U.S. is further proof that millennials are becoming an even more important resource for U.S. travel agent business.
"We are thrilled to be in partnership with Ensemble," said Contiki Vacations president Melissa da Silva. "More and more, young people are turning to the expertise of travel agents, and we want to make certain that the agents we work with are knowledgeable about our products and prepared to share the best vacation experiences for this growing, discerning and diverse audience."
While Contiki's announcement may embolden agents in the U.S. to seek out more millennial clients, Ensemble is not new to Contiki. The company has been a preferred partner for its Canadian members for some time.
"We're excited to continue that momentum in the U.S. with a product that appeals to younger travelers and to parents and grandparents who are looking for that perfect celebration gift," said Rice.
Travel agents who are looking to sell Contiki to their younger clients can have confidence in the company's experience.

"With more than 50 years of experience showing young adventurers the world, Contiki understands the travel intentions, spending habits and purchasing influencers of young travelers and believes travel is not a luxury to millennials - it's a necessity. They value experiences and stories over material items and since more 18-35 year olds have their passports now than ever before, to be relevant, it is imperative for travel providers to have an in-depth understanding of this newest and largest demographic," says da Silva.
With the addition to Contiki as a preferred partner in the U.S., travel agents now have another reason to begin catering to a younger audience
