Delta Vacations is expanding its horizons with a series of cultural immersion tours in Italy.
The private label vacation packaging brand of Delta Air Lines is better known for beach vacation packages, of which it sells an enormous number for Caribbean and Mexican destinations. But the company is pushing to broaden its image and offerings with packages that include such activities as wine and olive oil tastings.
Delta Vacations is offering two wine and olive oil tasting programs in countryside locations near Florence and Rome, respectively. Each of the two programs includes visits to at least two wineries, as well as lunch. An English-speaking guide is included along with private car transportation for up to six participants.
The wine tasting program near Florence is called Florence Countryside and the Chianti Wine Tasting Tour. The one-day program includes visits to the Italian towns of Badia e Passignano and Greve plus a tour of the Chianti winery, a wine tasting and lunch.
In the outskirts of Rome, Delta Vacations' Olive Oil and Wine Tasting Tour of the Frascati Hills includes visits to two wineries, an olive oil tasting experience, a tour of the town of Frascati and lunch at Osteria Zaraza.
Delta Vacations is now offering a number of other activities and excursions in Italy and the company has expanded its selection of available hotels in Rome, Florence, Venice and Capri.
