More and more people are discovering Africa as an incomparable setting for romantic adventures. Many newlyweds are throwing out the model of assembly line weddings and using the money they save to finance safaris to Africa where love can bloom with the same vigor that everything else in nature grows in Africa.
The New York-based safari operator Extraordinary Journeys (EJ Africa) is spotlighting the romantic potential of Africa with a special Valentine’s Day safari package especially for adventurous lovers.
The Romantic South African Safari is an eight-day/seven-night program that begins with four nights at the opulent Twelve Apostles Hotel, an oceanfront property just outside the city limits of Cape Town. A free shuttle takes guests from the hotel into the center of Cape Town for explorations of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront or the shops on Long Street or elsewhere.
The romantic adventure in Cape Town is followed by three nights in the bush at either Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp, Sabi Sabi Selati Camp or Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge. The package is priced from $3,800 per person, double occupancy, including intra-Africa transportation, but not transatlantic air.
Those who book the package by Jan. 15, 2016, will get a seven-minute helicopter ride over Cape Town thrown in.
