In partnership with documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, Tauck is planning a couple of Vietnamese trips enhanced by him and his crew.
It's all in time for his new series, "The Vietnam War," coming to PBS in September 2017.
The collaboration will be featured on both the brand's 16-day "Indochina: Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos" (featuring a one-day overnight cruise on the Bhaya III) and 16-day "Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand" itineraries in 2018.
Tauck-exclusive 10-15-minute "Stories by Ken Burns" short films will screen for guests and will include perspective from Burns as well as his co-director Lynn Novick and producer Sarah Botstein.
The vignettes are set to discuss cultural and political divisions during the war that still resonate in America, the 1960s and 1970s media's effect on the battles and the mythologies about the conflict. Tauck will produce eight to ten of the shorts for its Southeast Asia excursions. They will include interviews and voiceovers, as well as war-era footage and stills from the National Archives.
Already, the company has produced more than 130 short film vignettes with Burns featured on many other U.S. tours.
Besides Burns, director/producer Lynn Novick makes award-winning documentaries and has previously collaborated with him on "Frank Lloyd Wright," "Prohibition," "The Tenth Inning," "The War," "Jazz" and "Baseball." Moreover, Sarah Botstein has produced with both filmmakers titles like "Prohibition," "The War" and "Jazz."
"The Vietnam War" itself will be a ten-part, 18-hour documentary series.

The two aforementioned Vietnamese itineraries are only two of Tauck's larger 2018 "Exotics" collection that in total encompasses 28 trips in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Australia/New Zealand.
Also included are safaris in Africa and Northern India, small ship ocean cruises and Tauck Bridges itineraries specifically geared towards families. Select outings are also in partnerships with BBC Earth's award-winning filmmakers and include additional exclusive content.
Tauck is experiencing annual growth as reservations are showing double-digit increases in percentages across its tour portfolio. The "Exotics" further allow loyalists the opportunity for something completely out of the ordinary while appealing to newcomers as well.
