As solo travel continues to gain momentum among the baby boomers and other generations, lone explorers are poised to see their options expand in 2015 and beyond.
Guided tour and cruise operator Tauck provides a plethora of options, and, more importantly, has just announced its solo traveler savings for 2015.
Among the discounts, Tauck has once again eliminated the single supplement on its Category 1 European riverboat cabins and has reduced the single supplement by up to $1,000 on more than 160 departures of 60-plus itineraries to four different continents.
"Solo travelers love the camaraderie and sense of assurance they experience on our land tours and cruises," said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar in a statement.
Mahar went on to add that "we handle all of the advance planning and details for our guests, so there's no anxiety or worry. Traveling with Tauck is great choice for solo travelers, and with our single supplement savings, we're making it even better."
On top of waiving the single supplement for a Category 1 cabin on its European riverboats, Tauck will knock $1,000 off the total price for passengers eyeing Category 4 and 5 cabins on more than three dozen departures of 15 cruises.
The Connecticut-based operator will also offer discounted land tours in Europe.
Tauck will reduce the single supplement by as much as $400 on 48 departures of 18 different land tours.
North American travelers will benefit as well, with Tauck set to slash up to $300 off the single supplement on four dozen departures of 19 different itineraries.
In addition to the reduced single supplements, Tauck has dedicated multiple cabins onboard its two new riverboats the ms Inspire and ms Savor to solo travelers.
