Traveling solo is one of the biggest trends right now and will continue to be into 2017. If you are thinking of heading out on an adventure of your own, the Guardian has compiled some of the best trips for solos.
“Travel companies are tapping into this growing market, offering adventurous trips across the globe for solo travelers wanting to meet like-minded people,” writes Will Coldwell.
One of the first places Caldwell suggests is India.
“Contiki specializes in holidays for 18 to 35-year-olds and is a popular choice for solo travelers: last year 60 percent of its guests traveled solo and that figure is set to rise this year,” Coldwell says. “Though it has been running trips around the world for more than four decades, India represents a brand new destination for the company, which is launching tours there this December.”
Sailing in the Adriatic is another good trip for solos and G Adventures is offering a new journey.
“One of its new trips this year is a sailing adventure along the Dalmatian coast, a destination that is growing in popularity with solo travelers. Starting and ending in Dubrovnik, Croatia, the nine-day tour heads south to Montenegro and takes in the dramatic Balkan landscape, beautiful beaches and an old fishing village,” says Coldwell.
