Chicago is the place to be for travelers looking to enjoy a scenic cruise while bonding alongside their furry friends.
Now through Sept. 25, Mercury, Chicago's Skyline Cruiseline is offering canine cruises.
Features onboard the ship include outdoor seating so canine guests can feel the wind in their face, water bowls to keep dogs hydrated and newspaper-lined restrooms in case nature calls.
The 90-minute cruise, which features narration of the Windy City's history for human passengers, departs on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Adult tickets cost $34, while dog tickets cost just $8.
After spending an hour and a half at sea, guests can stroll Chicago's Riverwalk with Fido and grab a bite to eat outside at one of the area's many dog-friendly restaurants.
On Sunday, Mercury operated the canine cruise in support of the Live Like Roo Foundation, which raises money for pet owners whose animals are battling cancer.
Dog lovers who miss out on this year's canine cruise season will have to wait until July.
