Perillo Tours' educational division, Learning Journeys by Perillo, is working in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution to produce the Smithsonian Journey of Italy. The program includes the major triad of Rome, Venice and Florence along with the rare jewel of San Gimignano, packaged together to appeal to multi-generational family groups.
The program is designed to appeal to all ages from 8 up. Activities are sprinkled throughout the itinerary to appeal to various age groups from kids to grandparents, providing ways for all ages to dig into the rich culture of Italy and come away a much deeper knowledge of Italian culture and history while having fun through it all.
Activities and encounters include watching master glass blowers, experiencing the making of their own Venetian Carnival masks, taking a cooking class from a Florentine chef, a pizza making class in Rome and a gladiator training class in Rome.
Learning Journeys by Perillo also offers Smithsonian Journeys to the U.K, France and Spain.
