USTOA Revs Up Promotional Efforts for Travel to Cuba

The U.S. Tour Operators Association is gung-ho about Cuba.
USTOA President and CEO Terry Dale just returned from a trip to Cuba and he is overflowing with enthusiasm. Demand for Cuba since President Obama’s announcement of the intention to return toward normalized relations with the island nation is red hot. The number of USTOA member tour operators offering trips to Cuba under the people to people travel program has risen to 24.
Since Obama's announcement of his intentions last December, the international demand for Cuba has soared as tourists rush to get to Cuba "before the Americans come."
“Could there be any destination hotter than Cuba right now?” said Dale. “As interest in this island nation skyrockets, our members are adding additional departures, programs and itineraries to provide once-in-a-lifetime immersive experiences in Cuba, and our new enhanced search tool makes it easy for travelers to find the perfect trip.”
The tour operators association introduced a new itinerary finder tool to its website to help people find the right tour for them to Cuba. The “Find Your Dream Vacation” tool is a specialized search engine focused on tours of Cuba offered by USTOA members.
Traveling with a USTOA tour operator will cut through the confusion over tangled legalities still surrounding travel by Americans to Cuba. Even after Obama’s stated intention to normalize diplomatic relations with Cuba, the U.S. embargo of Cuba remains in place until it is removed by an act of Congress, an unlikely development in the current political climate in Washington.
Showing how serious USTOA is about Cuba, the association recently released a new video about Cuba starring Kelley Ferro, video journalist and a USTOA ambassador. It’s the latest in the USTOA’s Travel Together campaign. In the video Ferro escorts her audience on a trip through Cuba with USTOA tour operator member Cuba Travel Services.
