Wonderful Gesture:
We are all still reeling from the tragedy that took place in Orlando. Uber is doing its part by offering free rides to those commuting to various places in the LGBTQ community.
As Recode reports, the offer is good in 40 cities and includes rides up to $20 in value.
Phoenix Pick-Up:
Getting from the airport to your home will get easier starting Saturday. Uber will now offer service from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which gives travelers another option after a grueling flight.
Chicago Crackdown:
The Chicago Tribune reports Uber and Lyft drivers may have to undergo various screening ordinances after a city council votes.
As it had done in Austin, Uber has threatened to cease or alter its service in Chicago if such regulations were enacted.
Uber Popularity:
It's easy to assume that Uber inundates every last vestige of the travel industry.
As Business Insider recently found, that's just not the case. In reality, many travelers choose other means to get to where they need to go.
Its survey found that only 15 percent of respondents have actually used Uber with a whopping 33 percent claiming they haven't even heard of the ride-hailing app.
Uber Generous:
There is a big reason to use Uber if you're an owner of a Capital One Quicksilver or QuicksilverOne credit card.
The company has partnered with the banking service to provide a loyalty program that garners free rides for its users.
Didi Did It:
As we previously reported, Uber rival DiDi Chuxing just passed through its latest round of funding with flying colors.
The Chinese ride-hailing company amassed $7 billion giving it a $25 billion valuation. Your move, Uber.
UberEats:
Lastly, we have good news for those in London. Uber is extending its European food service to London.
Now those in that city and Paris can enjoy delicious food without ever changing out of their pajamas.
