Amadeus Introduces New Travel Intelligence Suite

Amadeus announced the launch of a travel intelligence suite today that aims to help agents use big data to their advantage.

Amadeus Agency Insight, developed by the Amadeus Travel Intelligence unit, is a suite of products and services that allows agents to leverage big data to discover new routes and markets, tap into travelers’ search behavior and assess their performance against competitors.

Today marks the global launch of the first two modules of Amadeus Agency Insight: Search Analysis and Booking Analysis.

Search Analysis gives agents a window into travelers’ minds by analyzing travelers’ Internet searches. This allows agencies to identify the top destinations, travel dates and average trip duration to help them tailor offers to clients.

Booking Analysis compares agencies to their competitors, while also revealing trends on emerging routes and airlines. The data is useful for monitoring sales performance, identifying new marketing strategies and improving supplier management.

“Deep understanding of the data and information we handle each day is critical to making good business decisions,” said Gerardo Concas, president of Costamar, via a release. “Amadeus' approach to travel intelligence allows us to achieve this understanding and benefit from greater insight, without requiring us to maintain a staff of specialized data analysts. We are very excited to see data turned into actionable information on a near real-time basis, making decision-making faster and simpler.

“This is key to effectively identify new revenue opportunities globally as well as to incorporate market and traveler insights into business planning, development and implementation.”

Via the multi-environment Amadeus Travel Intelligence Engine, data can be gathered across a traveler’s entire travel cycle (including the inspiration, search, booking, in-trip and post-trip stages), enabling greater personalization and more merchandising opportunities.

Search Analysis and Booking Analysis will empower travel agents to leverage data and target the right travelers at the right time. From a business perspective, this also helps travel agents increase their value to their partners.

“Innovative insights emerge from the vast array of data that can be handled by our Travel Intelligence Engine, without which customers can only see part of the picture.”

Amadeus Travel Intelligence customers include travel agencies, airlines, corporations, and Destination Marketing Offices (DMOs). In addition to Costamar, travel agencies Makemytrip, Despegar, Tije, Delfos and Travelfast are currently using the Amadeus Agency Insight suite worldwide.

Amadeus Travel Intelligence also addresses all the other key business segments of the travel industry.
