HotelTonight Introduces In-App Concierge Service

Online travel agency HotelTonight is now featuring a free in-app feature called Aces that connects bookers with the company’s team of insiders to ensure they are cared for throughout their stay.

Aces essentially works as a concierge service, connecting hotel guests with real human beings from the moment of check-in throughout the stay. Insiders can help with just about anything, from giving directions to nearby restaurants to giving local tips to arranging special requests at a hotel such as a specific bed type, extra towels and other amenities.

HotelTonight’s Special Projects team behind the feature, Dan and Inderpal, talked about the new feature on HotelTonight’s blog on Thursday.

“Aces is like access to a cool friend in town who gives awesome in-the-know tips, combined with a personal travel assistant to help arrange special requests at the hotel (think bed type requests, extra towels, etc.),” Dan said.

Added Inderpal: “Unlike other online travel companies, HotelTonight has your back during your entire hotel stay. Aces is one of the many things that uniquely positions HotelTonight to not only be the best place to book a last-minute hotel, but the best way to book and experience travel, period.”

According to the blog post, Aces is designed for “the always-on-the-go business traveler, those checking out a city they’ve never visited before, or anyone who just wants to plan less, live more, and let someone else handle the details.”

Aces was rolled out to a small group of HotelTonight bookers in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and San Diego on Thursday. Selected bookers receive a message within the HotelTonight app after they book, allowing them to start chatting with their Ace.

According to the blog post, HotelTonight will continue to tinker with the Aces feature over the coming months, while rolling it out to more cities and more bookers.
