Millions will cross the country or merely trek a few miles down the road to devour a very large bird in the sake of giving thanks. We are here to make sure you get the most out of your Thanksgiving traveling excursion.

The latest Kill it with Tech will concentrate on those apps that will help you amid a very specific type of travel: the kind that is dedicated to overeating and spending time with family.

So far we have covered things like saving money for vacation and the loneliness of business travel. It seemed appropriate to carve out a slice of technology for what you can expect over the course of the Thanksgiving week, namely eating and chatting with loved ones.

This is hardly an exhaustive list, so please feel free to offer your recommendations accordingly. As for a list of apps that will help get you to your destination, feel free to check out 10 Techy Ways To Ease That Thanksgiving Travel Headache.

But what about when you are finally around that amazing spread?

You will need to walk off that second helping of the good stuff, so you might as well take Walc out for a spin.

It’s a turn-by-turn navigation app aimed at people walking around town who might not have a compass in hand.

MyFitnessPal: The last thing you want to do on Thanksgiving is count calories, unless you are the type of person who does, which is convenient because this wonderful app will help you do just that.

Moment: Let’s say, for argument’s sake, that you use your smartphone quite a lot during the day. I know, I know. Ridiculous. Well, the one holiday you might want to put the phone down comes this Thursday, so perhaps download an app that reminds you that you have been paying far too much attention to your gadget.

Note: Please disregard this advice the moment any awkward conversations begin at dinner.

Pair It: I for one say you are more than welcome to drink a 40-ounce beer with dinner. You are an adult and can make adult decisions. However, the subject of what to pair certain dishes with will eventually come up, so you might as well be prepared.

Stand Up!: Normally an app that helps remind workers to get up and walk around the office, this should be invaluable as you lay comatose on the family room floor for a few hours. Perhaps it’s time to get up and walk around. Maybe visit the kitchen one more time for seconds.

Moves: If you manage to make it out of the house, roughly a few sizes larger, you can track how well you are doing all on your smartphone that you totally neglected throughout your holiday meal.
