Forget the idea of London calling, because the latest study proves the capital is busy tweeting.
According to The Evening Standard, research done by Spredfast suggests that London is arguably the most social media crazy place on this planet.
According to the study, the beloved town had the distinction of having its name combined with the search term "travel" in an insane number of tweets.
Jonathan Prynn, who writes for The Evening Standard, explains a bit more specifically: "The Twitter figures, compiled by online data firm Spredfast, show the words 'London' and 'travel' were tweeted together more than 630,000 times last year.
"This was almost 50 per cent more than the next most tweeted travel destination, Paris, on 431,662 and more than twice as many as New York, on 291,891."

Obviously, that's a bit tenuous to consider just that data and crown London as the prized monarchy to rule all other nations in regards to social media.
Well, according to the publication, there is more. It seems the term "London" by itself usurped other city names and then some.
In fact, its 81 million Twitter references were more, as Prynn explains, "than Sydney, Tokyo and Rome combined."

This is hardly the final word in Twitter love. However, there is something to be said for how grand and versatile London is as a travel destination.
It houses a wealth of free museums that welcome tourists to walk their respective hallowed halls.
Without a doubt, the capital continues to be a rich culinary scene that pumps out exciting new dishes from myriad cuisines.

And, of course, there are so many parts of town that are referenced and featured in so many Hollywood movies.
It's nearly impossible to walk through London and not get caught up in the excitement. Naturally, the one thing you would want to do is share the moment with your friends and social media followers.
So we have to say we find the study to be rather convincing considering our own personal experience with a city that is certainly worth tweeting about.
