That’s a sentiment you can take both figuratively and literally. Each and every pair remains the bane of travelers around the world not wearing flip-flops, because if you do manage to find a way to clean them on the road they are just a day’s wear from becoming a smelly mess again.
Mashable highlights the good people running Corrymoor Mohair out of East Devon that is proving mohair is mo’ better for anyone who is frustrated by the current state of socks in the world.
According to the report, these bad boys don’t really need the kind of attention other needier socks demand.
For we travelers, that means you don’t have to constantly worry about getting those socks cleaned at the hotel room or by other means.
If we are reading things correctly, a few pairs will get you through your respective adventure just fine. And you don’t have to worry about offending your fellow travelers.
Mashable states that owners Steve and Jenny Whitley noticed their mohair jumpers didn’t attract the kind of odors other fibers did.
Steve tells the publication, “Quite soon after we started with the socks, customers reported that after a day’s wear the socks were neither stiff nor did they smell.”
You can stop pinching yourself for a second and head over to the website if you want to find out if the claims are true.
There is a healthy variety of socks, ranging in pricing from £9.00 to £19.40. Of course, you will have to kick in the necessary shipping and handling for this haul from the United Kingdom.
Now this isn’t the only sweet-smelling sock game in town.
Recently we highlighted Stealth Socks, which recently featured on Kickstarter.
According to its campaign, however, it uses a bit more technology to keep those feet from spiraling into the realm of pure funk.
The socks make use of “bacteriostatic silver ions” as well as breathable construction to make you feel like you are walking on air.
Or, at the very least, that you are staving off the rank odors usually garnered from relentless walking. That means less laundry.
In either case, you now have a couple of options that will help you welcome the warm embrace of laziness.
