For travelers struggling to find the best deal on airfare, the future appears bright.
Hopper has revealed a brand new app for iOS 8 devices that is all but guaranteed to simplify the flight booking process for frustrated travelers.
In addition to predicting and monitoring airfare prices, the Hopper app provides users with helpful insider tips based on various factors and data.
Hopper is able to project future airfare prices "by analyzing historical price data and advance purchase curves for similar trips," writes Brianna Schneider. At that point, the app will recommend the user book now or hold off.
According to Schneider, the current price is going to wind up being the best price about a third of the time. However, 95 percent of the time users are going to book a cheaper flight by following the app's advice.
Users can also choose to Watch a Trip, where Hopper will monitor prices around the clock and send out an alert if prices drop or are expected to rise. Schneider points out that "on some routes, you could save upwards of 40 percent over the best price from your initial search."
Users can also take advantage of the When to Fly calendar feature, which uses color-coded dates to single out the best times to fly.
The Hopper app is currently available for download in the App store.
