SiteMinder Launches 'Canvas' Website Creator for Independent Hotels
Cloud-based software provider SiteMinder is expanding its technology offerings to the hospitality industry.
The Australian company has announced the launch of Canvas, a website creator designed for independent hotels that will be unveiled at the World Travel Market in London this week.
Canvas combines hotel e-commerce with attractive designs to help hotels improve their appeal and win over more customers.
"The launch of Canvas is about further empowering the world’s independent hoteliers who want full ownership, control and amplification of their most profitable channel — their website," SiteMinder Co-Founder and Managing Director Mike Ford said in a statement. "Canvas is about enhancing the independent hotelier’s ability to compete in today’s consumer-led Internet economy."
In addition to an attractive design, Canvas will help hotels develop a more user-friendly website.
Hotelier users will be able to choose from a range of different website templates and then customize their various website pages and preview them before publishing.
On top of improving the customer experience, Canvas is aimed at hoteliers that are hoping to become more visible where it often matters most these days: the Internet.
Ford points out that many independent hotels suffer from poor visibility on search engines.
"Canvas was designed specifically with independent hoteliers in mind, many of whom we have witnessed first-hand to be disadvantaged by their lack of technical or design expertise — and their constrained budget to acquire this expertise," stated Ford. "For this reason, we wanted to make sure Canvas was intuitive, responsive and search-optimized, so these hoteliers could be found and stay up-to-date, when they wanted to. It purposefully brings together only the things a guest needs to make a booking decision online, and removes all the noise that turns them away."
Hotelier customers can utilize Canvas for a flat monthly fee.
Ford admits SiteMinder is starting small with Canvas, but said the plan is to expand the product over time.
