Allow us to introduce you to cord cutting of a different sort.

SOSO is a new innovation spotted on Indiegogo that is both a smartphone case and your power cord.

It at least seems like the perfect solution for the person on the go who hates to constantly lug around a tangle of cables.

According to the following video, we are one successful campaign away from combining the peace of mind of a case with the capabilities of a power cord.

The only real depressing aspect of the campaign is that we didn’t think of this first.

As noted, the potential cases are being prepared for iPhones and iPads, the latter are also getting a handy cover that doubles as a stand.

These weekly Travel Tech Next articles are where we highlight innovations that are on the verge of taking over the marketplace.

In the case of SOSO, we can see the obvious value as a perfect blend of style and utility. Suddenly, we can ditch that cord at home and leave with the confidence that all we need is on our actual phone or hanging from our keychain in our pocket.

With that being said, there are some concerns we have for this particular case, which we are sure will be answered in time.

It’s rather common for iPhone users to charge their device daily, which means that case will get quite the workout through its lifetime. We wonder how well it will snap back into uniform alignment after a month or even a year.

But even if this is just the initial version of the case, we are ecstatic about where things are headed.

Combined with the keychain adapter, you would no longer have to worry about whether you packed your charger.

That feeling would be a thing of the past as you jet off on vacation with your keys in your pocket, right next to your smartphone that is a bit more intelligent.

The campaign currently has 26 backers and is looking at about $25,000 to raise in just about a month.
