Travel Tech Next: Take Your Snuggles On The Road With Pillow Talk

For any of you road warriors with serious snuggle-deficiency issues, you may want to check out new technology that will bring the coziness of your loved one along with you.

Recently we ran an article about solving business travel loneliness with various apps. Well, we are sure sorry we didn’t hear about Pillow Talk earlier, or else it would have been included.

The innovation essentially brings a semblance of your significant other with you while you slumber in an otherwise cold, emotionless hotel room.

Here is a brief video featuring Little Riot founder and Pillow Talk creator Joanna Montgomery, breaking down a device that will have you but a heartbeat away from your loved ones:

Those of you who travel with framed portraits of your significant other, you now have a Kickstarter campaign you can get behind.

You can give various levels of contributions. As little as £52 (or about $78) will get you one wristband and one speaker, shipping in May 2016.

Dropping £98 ($148) gets you two wristbands and two speakers, giving you all you need to keep close with that special someone.

Or, if your husband/wife isn’t a snuggler, you can hug and roll with this baby on and nobody is the wiser.

As of this writing, there are 41 backers who have helped raise nearly $5,000 of the $113,031 goal.

If you aren’t convinced of the whimsy sparked from just a sample, here are some reactions to the device:

The campaign explains: “At night when you are ready to go to bed, put on the wristband and place the small speaker under your pillow. The wristband will pick up your real-time heartbeats and send it to the speaker under your partner’s pillow, and vice versa. The shared experience is intimate and comforting. It’s a new way to interact with your loved one, and to feel each other’s presence when you are far away.”

There is even a quote from “That’s dope.”

Now are you going to argue with the wonderfully loquacious I didn’t think so.

Nothing will solve the misery that comes from leaving your loved ones behind as you travel to all parts of the world. However, this is one device that uses technology to solve a modicum of the dilemma.
