Virgin America's New App Doubles As Your Ultimate Spotify Travel Playlist

Virgin America is in the initial throes of releasing a promising, snazzy new app for its passengers to utilize at various stages of their trip.

And just as many feel as they board those cool-lit airplanes of theirs, the new app promises a refreshing take on the airline app.

Indeed, it will include a way to book a flight, much as so many other brands allow. But it will also offer a curated Spotify list – showing a willingness to accommodate a new generation of travelers.

The following video illustrates what the app can do once it's released:

As the app promises, you will have the opportunity to book and upgrade seamlessly within the app. But it also promises a touch of something more in the form of “favorite city deals” and Spotify playlists.

As noted on its website, Virgin America has a partnership with Spotify to curate playlists that will stoke the fire of your wanderlust.

As The Next Web reports, the playlists will be specially crafted party themes dedicated to your respective destination.

The report explains, “For example, New York City has themed-playlists like Empire State of Mind and A Night On Broadway, while Las Vegas’s got Big Ballin’ Casino Royale Mix (Hip-Hop Dolla’ Bills Mix) and Vegas Baby (Rat Pack Mix).”

It’s not going to change the landscape of the travel industry. But it’s a nice addition that illustrates some creative innovations that cater to travelers who want more than anything to enjoy their adventure.

It all sounds great, but you will have to wait a bit longer.

If you want to try out the Beta version of the app, you can head to the website and request just that.

CNET notes that the app will be available later this summer. For the time being, you can form your playlists and book your travel separately – the old fashioned way.
