The Dominican Republic is the perfect choice for an all-inclusive vacation thanks to its combination of stunning beaches, amazing resorts and near-perfect weather. And now it's even easier to experience all the charms this Caribbean island has to offer as Delta Vacations is expanding its offerings there thanks in part to double-digit growth in 2015, most notably in Punta Cana, which saw the largest rate of increase, and Santo Domingo, where it saw room demand rise by 50 percent over the previous year.
In furthering its offerings, Delta Vacations has added 10 properties to its Punta Cana line up, two in the capital city–the JW Marriott Hotel Santo Domingo and the Sheraton Santo Domingo–and the Luxury Bahia Principe Don Pablo Collection in the Samaná peninsula.

Delta Vacations is also exploring new opportunities as noted by their recent expansion into Puerto Plata. Flights are currently serviced through Santiago, and Delta Vacations is looking to expand its portfolio of properties in the area beyond its already established relationships with AMResorts, Iberostar Costa Dorada, Sunscape Puerto Plata, Riu Bachata and Riu Merengue.
"We are honored to work with an industry leader like Delta Vacations to expand travel packages and offerings to new and returning tourists," said Magaly Toribio, marketing advisor for the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism. "This growth is another step in helping the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism reach our goal of 10 million annual visitors to the country by 2023."
With more than 1,000 miles of coastline and 250 miles of some of the world's best beaches, the Dominican Republic is fast becoming a must-visit Caribbean destination. Punta Cana lies along the island's eastern shore and is home to more than 20 miles of pearl-white sand beaches renowned the world over for their beauty. Divers and snorkelers flock to the area thanks to a 19-mile long coral reef (the longest on the island), as well as for the chance to explore the reef caverns and nearby Catalina and Saona Islands. The 53 luxurious resorts in the Delta Vacations Punta Cana portfolio offer a perfect home-base from which to explore the island, go horseback riding, take in a round of golf or even take in the scenery from above with a parasailing ride.
The vibrant capital city of Santo Domingo is an example of how to best blend historic charm and modern amenities. Delta Vacations offers four stunning properties for vacationers who want to combine a beach vacation with a vibrant city experience and whose colonial charm is reminiscent of some of Europe's finest cities. Shoppers and art lovers will delight in the city's many quaint boutiques and galleries and when it's time to get away from it all, a train ride through the tranquil Jardin Botanico Nacional Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso is just the ticket.
The once-sleepy sugar cane town of La Romana is fast becoming one of the island's most popular destinations thanks in part to Casa de Campo, a golf course deemed to be "the finest golf resort in the world" by Golf magazine. Meanwhile, those looking for something a little off the beaten path will want to make sure Samana is on their list of places to stay. This peninsula offers secluded beaches, friendly locals, and for visitors who come between January and March, the chance for some fantastic whale-watching.
