Luxury escorted journeys company Insight Vacations has announced a new series of tours in Croatia based on the hit television series "Game of Thrones" on HBO.
Croatia has been the host of many scenes filmed in the TV series, and Insight Vacations is offering several tours of landscapes and attractions recognizable from "Game of Thrones," with the tour dubbed "Treasures of Croatia and Bosnia."
The adventure for travelers begins in the ancient city of Split, which in the TV series acts as the city of Meereen. As part of the visit to Split, tourists will have to chance to walk inside Diocletian's Palace, which was the setting for Daenerys' throne room.
As far as many of the countryside scenes from "Game of Thrones," several were filmed in Krka National Park, one of Croatia's eight National Parks. Guests who travel with Insight Vacations will be treated to a full day exploring the park, including its expansive forest and waterfalls.
The final stop on the tour will be the historic city of Dubrovnik, which "Game of Thrones" fans know as King's Landing. While the "Treasures of Croatia and Bosnia" tour offers a stop in the city, Insight Vacations also offers further exploration of the area with additional journeys, such as "Country Roads of Croatia," "Imperial Capitals & the Dalmatian Riviera," "Treasures of the Balkans" and "Dalmatian Elegance."
