Caribbean hotels, resorts and destinations traditionally offer their best values during the summer months and this year is no exception. Several properties across the region are joining entire destinations in offering special rates and exclusive discounts on amenities, facilities and services.
Several of Puerto Rico's top resorts are offering special summer travel packages. The family friendly "Sun, Fun and History" package at the Hotel El Convento features deluxe accommodations, daily complimentary breakfast and lunch for two children, admission to the El Convento Beach Club and the Museo Del Niño (children's museum), plus one kite per child to fly on the grounds of El Morro (San Juan's historic 400 year-old Spanish fortress). Guests also receive a tote bag and admission to a manager's reception. Per-person rates start at $225 per night.
A "Girls Wanna Have Fun" getaway package at the La Concha Resort in San Juan's trendy Concado district features a VIP welcome amenity including watermelon sangria pitcher and signature Latino chips. Guests also enjoy a reserved nighttime lobby area next to the DJ booth with a complimentary serving of sushi and up to four signature drinks. The packages also include shopping discounts and gift cards for the nearby Mall of San Juan; per person rates start at $209 per night.
Meanwhile another Condado property, the historic Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, is offering a "Suite Summer" package that combines complimentary 24-hour butler service with 20 percent discounts on Spa treatments and a $50 dining credit at the resort's Ola oceanfront bistro. Per-person rates start at $285 per night.
Ducteil sources most of the restaurant's products from local fishermen and French Coco's on-site herbs and vegetables garden.
A select group of United States Virgin Islands hotels and resorts is partnering with the U.S.V.I. Department of Tourism to offer free nights and spending credits to travelers who book stays in St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas through October.
The 2016 "Summer-Fall" promotion offers travelers who reserve three-night stays by July 16 will receive a fourth night free and a $350 spending credit. The offer applies to travel through Oct. 15, 2016.
Participating hotels and resorts include the Hotel Caravelle, Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort & Spa and Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort & Casino in St. Croix; the Westin St. John Resort & Villas in St. John and the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Marriott Resort, The Green Iguana Hotel and the Windward Passage Hotel in St. Thomas.
