4 Reasons to Choose Sirenis Punta Cana

4 Reasons to Choose Sirenis Punta Cana

Having just visited Sirenis Punta Cana for the first time, I feel as though it is my duty to share my experience and highlight the defining features that make it stand out with an overview of the top 5 reasons why this resort is the place to be. As my airport transfer pulled on to the perfectly manicured grounds of Sirenis Punta Cana, I immediately thought to myself, “Wow, the pictures really don’t do this resort justice.”

The beauty of the property is honestly overwhelming, with the perfectly landscaped grounds, the classic tropical island ambiance, and the colorful peacocks that can be seen roaming around property. While it’s easy to say that all hotel properties are beautiful and well kept -- the authenticity of the Sirenis property made a strong impression on me, it was unlike any other resort I had ever seen. So, below are the top reasons why I would recommend visiting Sirenis Punta Cana Resort Casino & Aquagames.

    Customer Service

Arriving on property, I made my way through the tiki-roofed walkway up to the lobby and was greeted by the smiling faces of bellhops who immediately relieved me of the heavy suitcase I had been lugging around all morning. Before we could even make it to the check-in counter, we were handed a refreshingly fruity rum punch accompanied by a cool towel to wash away the inherent stress that comes with a morning of international travel. The concierge staff were knowledgeable, efficient and very helpful, and within no time, I had my room key, a map of the property, a list of activities, and was ready to visit the lunch buffet.

Everywhere I went on property, I experienced exceptional customer service; weather it was an immediate greeting when we sat down at the bar, efficient wait staff at the buffets and a la carte restaurants, or genuinely friendly smiles and “hello’s” whenever we walked through the lobby or down the path leading to the pools and beach. When talking with one of the front desk managers, who had only been working at Sirenis for 17 days, he said that after working at a number of different resorts, he felt there was a much friendlier atmosphere from within the staff than elsewhere. This resonated strongly with me because it highlighted the fact that, as a family owned company, it is part of the Sirenis culture to extend that connection to the staff, who then pass it along to their valued guests.

    There’s So Much to Do!

Another top selling aspect of Sirenis Punta Cana that stood out to me was the wide variety of activities offered to guests on a daily basis. Outside the breakfast buffet is a large banner with the scheduled daily activities and the featured nighttime entertainment.

During the day, guests can choose to relax among the palm trees by the breathtaking beach or on the nearby pool patio, both of which are fully equipped with an endless stock of lounge chairs and palapas, so there is no need to rush down early to secure a spot! Whether beachside or poolside, guests can choose to participate in a variety of activities such as beach volleyball, water aerobics, dance classes and more! With a buffet situated right on the patio, a swim up bar in the pool, a tiki bar by the beach, and the option to sign up for a beachfront massage, guests have everything they need for a full day of reading, napping, swimming and relaxing.

For those on a family vacation, young ones can make friends and join in group activities while parents have some alone time thanks to the Kids Club, which is available on a daily basis. Children spend the mornings, 10 am to 12:15 pm, and afternoons, 3 pm until 5 pm, participating in chaperoned activities, such as Olympic games, ring toss competitions, archery, water polo and more, which vary on a daily basis! This schedule is perfect for giving parents some time to themselves while also allowing the family to reconvene for meals.

After dinner entertainment varied each night but included options such as beach parties, live music in the lobby- across from the bar, and performances at the outdoor theater such as plays, concerts, musicals, or Karaoke. Guests could also try their luck at the Sirenis Casino, which featured games like black jack, poker, Texas hold’em, and slot machines. The onsite club, called the Disco, give guests a chance to let loose and dance, with party music starting at 11 p.m.

    Sirenis Aquagames Included!

Another prominent feature at Sirenis Punta Cana is the on property water park, Sirenis Aquagames. As it is part of the all-inclusive fee, guests have full access to the thrilling slides all day long. When you first walk in you see the high tower slides to your left, a swimming pool and patio straight ahead, and a gift shop and buffet to your right. The high tower slides consist of the intertwining yellow and blue Aquatubo slides, the blue and red open toboggan Tobosplash slides, the straight plunging Stuka slide, the four lane Aquaracer, and a yellow and green striped, free fall twister called the Kamikaze. On the left of the high tower are a number of picnic tables perfect for a lunch break or a cocktail break. Beyond the high tower is the Pirate themed area for younger children with smaller slides, a wading pool, and sprinklers. This little jungle gym- like section of the waterpark is visible from the buffet, the main swimming pool patio, the picnic tables, and the hammock section, so children can be easily monitored by their parents.

What’s great about Sirenis Aquagames is the fact that there is so much to do, with the high tower slides, the pool, the buffet, and the kiddie areas, but not to the extent that its overwhelming. It’s big enough to fit all of this, but not so big that parents have to worry about children getting lost. In fact when sitting in the lounge chairs or at the picnic tables, parents have full view of the Pirate play area and, with the attentive, friendly life guards stationed throughout the park, parents can trust that their children are in good hands and feel more at ease.

    Suitable for All Ages

While Sirenis Punta Cana is generally promoted as a family atmosphere, it is important to stress that while yes it is a kid friendly environment, it should not be pigeon holed in that one category. While I was there I witnessed not only parents with their children, but couples and groups of friends, ranging in age from early twenties to over 50, all having the time of their lives. There are enough activities and things to do on property and off to keep guests of all ages entertained and having fun. Activities like racing down waterslides, joining in for a beach volleyball tournament, and splashing around in the ocean are not just restricted to kids only, you’re never too old to have fun! Adult guests can release their inner child for all around fun, while still in an environment where they can take a day or two to recuperate by relaxing on the beach, and possibly signing up for an ocean front massage!

Adult guests can often be seen passing by the popular lobby bar in the afternoon for a coffee or their first cocktail of the day, and later congregating for after dinner drinks until the wee hours of the morning. The friendly bartenders, delicious drinks (the ones on the menu and those concocted by the talented bar- wizards based on whatever you’re craving), laid back atmosphere make this central lobby bar the perfect place for guests to come relax, meet new friends and enjoy the authentic Caribbean atmosphere.

I strongly recommend trying the Sirenis Cocktail, the Coco Loco Punch, and, of course, the Dominican Republic’s signature drink: Mama Juana. This potent Dominican treat is created by letting a tree bark and a variety of herbs soak in a mixture of rum, red wine, and honey. With a taste similar to cinnamon flavored whiskey, like Fireball, Mama Juana can be sipped or taken as a shot and is an overall crowd favorite.

Regardless of age, Sirenis Hotels & Resorts offers all of its guests the perfect combination of exciting fun, and blissful relaxation. Whether they are on a family vacation, a romantic retreat or a group getaway, Sirenis Punta Cana caters to guests of all ages and all occasions.
