    Celebrating The Holidays at Sirenis!

    This holiday season, both Sirenis Punta Cana and Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya have exciting events in store for guests celebrating the holidays with us!

    From Dec. 24, 2015 to Jan.1, 2016 both properties have arranged a variety of daytime activities on the beach, by the pool and in the lobbies, as well as nightly entertainment for the whole family. Our vivacious, hilarious Entertainment teams will be promoting and facilitating these festive events throughout the week. Each day will hold something different, with daily themes like Pirate day, Olympic day, Mexico day, and Dominican day, as well as a constantly rotating activity schedule.

    To make our guests’ holiday away from home as memorable as possible, our special event schedules also include fancy holiday Galas on held on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, as well as present deliveries from Santa Claus on the 25th!

    The holiday event schedule starts on Dec. 24 at both properties with Christmas activities on the beach with our Entertainment team! Activities include “sandmen” building competitions and a holiday beach barbeque.

    At Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya there will be a special “Merengue express” dance class while Sirenis Punta Cana will host a special Kayak race. At both properties, there will be a live Nativity scene held in the lobby in the evening for guests to enjoy before the evening festivities. Guests can make reservations to attend the Christmas Gala at their favorite a la carte restaurant that evening. Following the Gala, guests can proceed to the hotel’s theater for a Christmas show performance that the whole family will love!

    On Christmas Day, Brunch will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both properties. At Sirenis Punta Cana, the Entertainment team will host a variety of Christmas day activities including a Grape Eating competition, which is a cultural tradition, a Christmas tree decorating competition and Christmas Carol completion. At Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, guest can participate in decorating the Christmas float, attend the paella tasting held at the pool, or the cupcake party at the beach. Early in the afternoon, guests will congregate on the beach for Santa’s arrival, where he will be handing out Christmas presents!

    Both resorts have set aside a day to celebrate their national culture throughout this week.

    Sirenis Punta Cana will be hosting Dominican Day on Dec. 26, with a variety of games and activities that emulate the flair and color of the Dominican culture. Some of these scheduled events include dance classes with step by step instructions for the popular “Apple Dance,” and a Dominican Barbecue for lunch held on the beach.

    After lunch, there is a “Mr. Sexy” competition that will be held by the pool, which is sure to be entertaining to say the least. During the evening, the resort will host a Dominican Handcraft Market with live music, giving guests the opportunity to purchase authentic handmade merchandise reflecting the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic and its people.

    Mexican Day is held on Dec. 29 at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, where guests will experience the Mexican culture, as well as that of historic, pre- Hispanic Mayan civilization. A morning excursion will take guests on a journey through the Vivero EcoSirenis nursery where they can learn about some of the customs and traditions of the Mayan Civilization. For lunch, there will be a quesadilla and tortilla spread by the pool, and a beach barbeque featuring an array of popular Mexican and Yucatan cuisines. The evening activities consist of live music, an Arts and Crafts Market featuring gorgeous handmade gifts created by talented vendors from the area, and a Mexican festival compete with a piñata and both Mexican and Mayan performances.

    On New Year’s Eve, guests at both Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya and Sirenis Punta Cana can participate in some of the many games and activities being held by the beach or pool, and enjoy special beach barbecues for lunch. As for the evening festivities, guests can observe the European New Year’s Celebration with live music in the hotel lobbies followed by a New Year’s Cocktail hour with sparkling wine and appetizers, before attending the New Year’ Gala at the restaurant of their choice. After the Gala, both properties will be hosting a “Welcome 2016” party where guests can congregate in the large theater and count down to the New Year and share a celebratory toast to 2016 with their Sirenis family. Before turning in for the night, guests can stop by the lobby at their respective resort for late night snacks and puff pastries.

    New Year’s Day activities were scheduled with recovery in mind, and is referred to as Hangover day. The hotel buffets will be open for brunch, from 7am- 3 pm, and a line of easy going, low intensity activities will be held to occupy the children, while “First- Aid” cocktail stations will be set up for the adults. Both properties will also host a ceremonial New Year’s Wish event where each guest is given a balloon, told to make a wish, and release the balloon as a symbolic gesture.

    Some additional activities scheduled during this holiday week included a foam and Reggae parties, tennis, water polo, and volleyball tournaments, pin the tail on the reindeer, kite flying competitions, dance classes, and Pilates lessons. Nightly performances include a Circus show, burlesque show, a Michael Jackson greatest hits show, and Christmas specials, as well as Broadway classics like "The Lion King," "Grease," and "Mamma Mia." Othernight time entertainment include beach parties, hot chocolate, churros and music in the lobbies, and Karaoke. The discotheques “AK,” at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, and “El Bonche,” at Sirenis Punta Cana are open every night at 11 p.m. for adult guests and special themes such as '70s night, pirate night, Salsa night, and special holiday events for Christmas and New Year’s.
