We're going to explain all about them, and why you shouldn't miss the opportunity of visiting one of them on your next trip to Mexico.
A Pueblo Magico is a town that has strong symbolic attributes such as history, culture and nature. It's not that easy to become one of them, you must first gather up a long list of requirements and apply. Then, a committee reviews the request and decides if the appointment is granted or not.

What are the most important requirements?
-Have a 20,000 base population.
-Develop strategies for community participation.
-Have a symbolic attraction as a reference.
-Have a variety of tourism products to offer visitors.
-Keep and encourage traditions, celebrations and festivals.
-Have a meaningful local craft production.
-Keep the traditional cuisine with its original context.
To this day, we have 83 Pueblos Magicos in Mexico, the most popular ones in the states of Puebla, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Guanajuato and Jalisco. If you're thinking of visiting Mexico soon, here are some of them you shouldn't miss:
Valladolid, Yucatán: At the east of the Yucatan Peninsula is Valladolid, a beautiful colonial village with historical buildings and homes. Here you will taste the most delicious local cuisine like salbutes, panuchos and papadzules in any of the restaurants and cafes around the main square.
