AmaWaterways is setting the bar high with river cruise ambiance and amenities, while urging passengers to “Expect the Unexpected.”

The newest vessels in the cruise line’s fleet offer a lauded swim-up bar, the perfect place to order local libations.

As Kristin Karst, Executive Vice President & Co-Owner of AmaWaterways puts it, “Whether you choose a light crisp Gruner Veltliner after a fun day exploring Durnstein, or maybe a rich red Bordeaux Blend from the city of Bourg after our exclusive AmaWaterways Wine Festival hosted by city officials, wine tasting can be a daily adventure.”

Of course, wine stewards are available to provide must-know knowledge about each vintage being poured.

On the cuisine side, chefs convene on the top deck during some afternoons to serve up interesting confections and beverages. Such delights could include, “yummy Apricot dumplings with Rudesheimer Coffee on the Rhine or a special Austrian Spritzer on the Danube,” Karst said.

Savory Tapas are served in the Main Lounge, as Karst said, an assortment ranging from “local cheeses with dried fruits and marinated grilled asparagus to sliced tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella drizzled with house-made pesto…”
