Get to Know Mexico's Sea Turtles

Get to Know Mexico's Sea Turtles

Did you know that between the months of May and December, sea turtles crawl on to Mexico’s stunning beaches to lay eggs in the sand? Eggs require about 45 days of incubation in the sand before hatching, but lot can happen in 45 days. Not only are other wildlife creatures a threat, but also poachers and beach goers threaten the potential life of these tiny creatures.

A spectacular summer feature offered by Palace Resorts, focuses on giving back to the environment. Palace Resorts has been preserving local wild life by participating in a yearly ritual of helping these creatures in finding their way safely to the ocean. Together with local governments and biologists, Moon Palace, Le Blanc Spa Resort, Beach Palace, and Sun Palace provide guests with an unique experience to learn more about wild life by helping release baby turtles into the Caribbean Sea.

The ceremony begins in the early morning due to the threat of birds preying on the newborns. The resort waits until there is just enough light so that guests can watch the turtles reach their final destination, the ocean. By participating in this activity, guest will be helping in Palace Resorts Foundation’s mission to preserve local, ecological culture.  In 2014, Palace Resorts protected about 1,000 sea turtle nests, and their guests released more than 95,000 baby sea turtles into the ocean. Your clients can also take advantage of this incredible opportunity and unforgettable experience.

Plus don’t forget, Palace Resorts & LeBlanc Spa Resort also offer incredible promotions including up to $2,500 Resort Credit. Ask for details!
