Silversea’s 2018 World Cruise is dubbed “La Grande Bellezza” (The Great Beauty) as there will be plenty on tap during this continent-girding sailing.

The 121-day voyage starts in Los Angeles in early January and ends in Rome in early May, visiting a total of 21 countries and 60 ports.

First stop is Hawaii, with visits to Honolulu, Maui and Hilo, then Papeete, Tahiti. A trip through the South Pacific to the islands of Bora Bora, Raiatea and Aitutaki is followed by a call in Tonga’s Nuku’alofa before arriving at Auckland, New Zealand.

Tauranga, NZ is next, then capital Wellington. Smaller historic and nature-filled islands follow, then an in-depth visit to Australia, an exploration of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and more interesting islands. After stopping at Australia’s tropical destinations of Cairns and Darwin, Bali is next.

Bali’s main port of Benoa is the first stop, then spiritual city Probolinggo, followed by Java and its temples, Muaea and the Romblon Island to Manila. Hong Kong is next after departing The Philippines’ capital.

Hong Kong’s renowned Ha Long Bay is explored, followed by Vietnam’s Danang and Ho Chi Minh City. Next are two buzzing metropolises, Bangkok and Singapore.

Kuala Lumpur, another of the region’s bustling cities follows, and then things get idyllic with the islands of Phuket.

Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo brings back the urban vibe, then Cochin, the meeting point of China and India is visited. The iconic Indian city of Mumbai is followed by a journey to the Middle East to Oman’s port capital of Muscat.

The interesting Middle Eastern ports of Salalah and Safaga are followed by the vibrant city of Aqaba in Jordan. A journey into the Mediterranean is the cruise’s home stretch, visiting Greece, the island of Rhodes and Santorini, then Sorrento Italy, and the grand finale: Rome.
