If you haven’t made Spring Break plans already, you may want to run (not walk) to your nearest travel agent because renowned Colombian reggaeton singer Maluma is headlining at the Oasis Arena at Oasis Hotels & Resorts’ Grand Oasis Cancun on April 15.
Maluma (born Juan Luis Londoño Arias) is known for his sweet tenor voice, a street-savvy romantic style and an urban style that has made him a musical icon throughout Latin America.
While still a teenager and pursuing a career as a professional football player, he would sing for pleasure. Swayed by the many musical competitions on television, as well as the popularity of self-produced music videos on YouTube, Maluma decided to try his hand as a professional singer and cut his first single, “Farandulera,” which quickly gained him an online following.
He was so popular that he caught the eye (and ears) of Sony Music. The next year, his debut album Magia was released, with several singles– "Obsesión," "Loco," and "Miss Independent"–hitting the Colombian and Latin American music charts. “La Temperatura,” his follow-up single, earned a spot on the North American charts, along with a Latin American Grammy nomination in 2013.

The following year, he joined Elvis Crespo on his hit “Ole Brazil” as a featured vocalist for the World Cup tournament. Maluma isn’t one to rest on his laurels, and in 2015 he released “PB.DB. The Mixtape,” a compilation of his greatest hits with two new bonus tracks. Both these tracks–"Me Gustas Tanto" and "Climax"– charted and laid the foundation for his latest album, “Pretty Boy Dirty Boy,” which debuted in the fall.
The show, which is open to the public, will begin at 9 p.m., however, doors will open early at 7:30 p.m.
