Our Top Tips For Romance and Relaxation In Maui

Our Top Tips For Romance and Relaxation In Maui

You don’t have to look far to find paradise in Maui. From the laid-back vibes and rolling hills of the upcountry to the sweeping white sand beaches of Ka’anapali, there’s a little something for everyone on this famed Hawaiian island. Even better, Maui is the perfect spot for anyone looking to recharge and reconnect with their special someone.

Here are our favorite spots for a romantic and relaxing rendezvous in Maui:

Explore The Slopes of Mt. Haleakala

While your first inclination might be to hit the beach, we recommend starting your Maui vacation with a road trip through Upcountry. Begin your day with an early morning wake up call to see a magical sunrise from the top of Mt. Haleakala, some 10,000 feet above sea level. It’s chilly up here, so bring a blanket to snuggle while you wait for the sun to rise above the clouds.

After the sunrise, head to Makawao for brunch and a chance to browse the art galleries. While Makawao was once a place for paniolos (Hawaiian cowboys), today it is known for its independent boutiques, artisanal cafes and local art galleries. We recommend grabbing a cream puff from T. Komoda Store, a Japanese bakery dating back to 1916.

Now it’s time to explore the world of Maui wines. Specifically, head to MauiWine, a local winery located in the King’s Cottage—the vacation spot of the last reigning king of Hawaii. The Sparkling Pineapple Wine is always a crowd favorite, and perfect for celebrating a special occasion with your partner.

End the day with a tour of O’O Farms, an eight-acre biodynamic farm. Many of the best restaurants in Maui source their organic produce and herbs from O’O Farms. Foodies will love the Gourmet Lunch and Farm Tour with sweeping views.

Soak Up The Sun And Sea

Of course, few things are more romantic than lounging away the day on a secluded strip of sand. One of the best things about Maui is that there’s seemingly always a new beach to discover, many of which you won’t have to share.

Ka’anapali Beach is perhaps the most popular stretch of sand, in large part since many of the best resorts are nearby. Alternatively, try Honolulu Bay, Kapalua Beach or Keawakapu Beach. Be sure to bring along a snorkel and fins to discover the colorful underwater world just off shore.

One of our favorite ways to end the day is with a sunset cocktail cruise. Sip on a Mai Tai and enjoy the views of Maui from the water. There are heaps of options to choose from, but Teralani Sailing regularly receives some of the best reviews.

Enjoy A Day At The Spa

What better way to combine romance and relaxation than with a luxurious spa treatment? Maui boasts many world-class options for all budgets and styles. The spa at Four Seasons is a classic option offering a number of traditional Hawaiian massage treatments. Try the Lomi Pohaku, a traditional Lomi Lomi massage with stones.

The Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea Resort has been named one of the top spas in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler, and offers guests saunas, waterfalls and specialty baths, along with a number of luscious treatments and beauty services.

Finally, no matter what you do, the key to romance and relaxation in Maui is to take time to slow down and appreciate the beauty around you! With all the lush natural attractions and first-class services, you’ll be feeling rejuvenated in no time.
