Long a favored hotel in the heart of New Orleans’s French Quarter, the Royal Sonesta New Orleans is a hub of authentic jazz, vibrant night life and refined southern design. Traditional gabled windows, rich colors and linens accented with fresh flowers, wrought-iron balconies, and a lush courtyard combine to create more than just a place to stay. Indeed, any guest of this landmark hotel will tell you that staying at Royal Sonesta is truly an experience unlike any other.

Now more than ever, after a $30 million renovation, the Royal Sonesta New Orleans is a destination in and of itself. The 483 newly refurbished rooms, including 36 suites, are luxury personified. The lobby maintains its grandeur as before, adorned with elegant furnishings, warm colors and delightful artwork. The new fitness room is equipped with weights and all the latest machines. And the meeting spaces exude a gracious southern hospitality, catered with the utmost professionalism that is backed by years of experience.

The hotel renovation is the culmination of enhancements that began earlier this year with the re-imagining of Desire Oyster Bar, the hotel’s casual restaurant on world-famous Bourbon Street. The interior redesign tastefully blends the property’s original, iconic aesthetics with modern elements, including decorative iron grillwork, oversized windows, an antique mirror, tin ceiling and black and white checkered floors.

Come and see our changes! We think you’ll agree they’re the perfect complement to Sonesta’s other exciting New Orleans venues: Le Booze, “the” whiskey destination on Bourbon Street; Restaurant R’evolution, the award-winning innovative eatery of modern-style Cajun and Creole cuisine; and of course, Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse, where the city’s and the nation’s legendary musicians jam.

We hope to see you soon! And remember that the winter months are the ideal time to experience New Orleans’s hot jazz and warm climate. Save big on your stay with the Sonesta Winter Sale!
