Stories From The Road: Capturing State Signs

Stories From The Road: Capturing State Signs

We’ll I’m happy to learn that we’re not the only road trippers that pull over and takes pictures of each state sign that we pass. This may seem like a weird/quirky thing for a road tripper to do, but we’ve made some great road trip memories doing this. Do you do this as well?

Colorado has to be my favorite state sign road trip memory.

This was one of the only states we hadn’t road tripped through yet, so finding the Colorado welcome sign was a big deal for us. To our happy surprise, the sign was an impressive size, so we gladly pulled over for some pictures with the sign.

What happened next is one of my favorite road trip memories.

Here’s how it went down with my fellow road trippers:

Ashish: Michelle pick me up, I want to try and hang off the back of the sign for a picture
Michelle: no, I’ll probably just drop you
    Ashish: Tat pick me up
    Tat: ok!

While trying to pick up Ashish, my friend Tat accidently dropped him in a prickle bush.

Tat: I didn’t drop him, he fell.

You know that state you get to when you’re beyond tired that you get the giggles. I think we reached that point, and we were in need of a good night's sleep. We spent a good half hour hysterically laughing at the events that were unfolding in front of us, while watching our friend pluck prickles from his hand. I’m sure it would have helped if he removed his gigantic clown glasses to see better, but he wanted them to be part of doing that.

This right here is a big reason why we road trip. It’s a great experience to get out and explore our beautiful country, but it’s truly the road trip memories that you make along the way that mean the most.
