Top 5 Reasons an MSC Cruise Is the Best Father's Day Gift for Dad

Top 5 Reasons an MSC Cruise Is the Best Father's Day Gift for Dad

We all know it’s not easy shopping for our dads for Father’s Day. The dad that likes the outdoors – we think new hiking gear will do. The white-collared professional dad – the proverbial tie is one gift we can always count on getting. And the DIY fixer-upper dad? Well, you can’t go wrong with a new hi-tech power drill. Here’s the thing, and as a dad with two wonderful kids of my own, we would really rather receive a cruise vacation! And here are the top 5 reasons why:

Reason No. 1: The Great Value and Low Initial Deposits

Cruising has some of the best rates when it comes to vacation planning. You don’t need to pay for the entire cruise all at once and the flexible payment plans can help you save and budget accordingly. As a matter of fact, for almost all of MSC Cruises’ itineraries, deposits can be as low as just $100 down no matter where in the world you decide to cruise. Although the rates may differ based on category choice, you could essentially give dad a pretty cool vacation that includes his stateroom, dining and entertainment for less than a couple hundred dollars a day.

Reason No. 2: Planning is SO Easy

Two words: Travel Agent! Say goodbye to those days of surfing website after website looking for the best cruise deal for dad. Your travel agent is your dedicated cruise vacation planner and by far, your best resource to help you navigate through the planning process. You name it, they can do it. You want to have a surprise get-together for dad onboard? They can make that happen. You want to plan a specific shore excursion that you know dad would love? They can do that too. My advice is to get yourself a good travel agent and then sit back, relax and leave all the planning to them.

Reason No. 3: Hundreds of Exotic Destinations to Choose From

There are so many destinations to choose from and MSC Cruises has some of the most fascinating itineraries around. From the Caribbean all the way to the heart of the Mediterranean, South Africa, Brazil and even Greece, the world is literally your playground. Let’s face it. There’s no other vacation that could have dad soaring through a tree canopy in the Veragua Rainforest on an aerial tramway in Costa Rica and then experiencing tons of exotic birds and wildlife while trekking through the jungles of Chagres in Panama and still have time to take an exhilarating bobsled ride down Jamaica’s Mystic Mountain.

And this is all in ONE trip. The best part is that there is no need to worry about long customs lines, having a visa or even language barriers. However, the toughest decision you may face is choosing which of these amazing places to take dad. Either way, you’re guaranteed to be the envy of the entire family and the apple of dad’s eye.

Reason No. 4: Incredible Onboard Entertainment and Enrichment Programs

That old saying about cruising is for the newly wed and nearly dead is over. You are guaranteed to visit some really remarkable destinations but the icing on the cake is the myriad of exciting shows and engaging activities you can get dad to participate in while onboard. In fact, aboard MSC Divina, dad can become his very own expert sommelier at a hands-on wine-blending session. Imagine that. Dad coining his own Pinot Noir! He can  also learn how to make potato gnocchi from scratch from an expert executive chef and even learn how to capture the magic of the moment with an enlightening photography course.

And the entertainment on an MSC cruise ship is spectacular. With 80 different original shows on every ship, it’s no surprise that the fleet has won Best Entertainment at Sea year after year.

After a long day, pamper your dad at the one and only Balinese spa facility at sea in the MSC Aurea Spa. MSC Cruises singlehandedly created a heavenly oasis specially designed only for MSC cruise guests. This divine escape has a state-of-the-art gym and up to 20 types of spa massages. My suggestion? I say try to get dad scheduled for a Royal package or the Diamond Orchid Deluxe package. That one is my personal favorite.

Reason No. 5: Outstanding International Dining and Cuisine

The food onboard any of the 12 MSC ships will blow dad’s mind. When was the last time he had delicious Slow Food meat sauces made from fresh tomatoes plucked right from the grove or extra-virgin olive oil extracted from the finest Taggiasca Olives? On every MSC ship, all meals are delightfully authentic. There is at least one master pizza maker onboard promising the finest and freshest Italian pizza every day of your journey. Additionally, dad will be amazed by the 12 bakers on each MSC ship, mastering their skills to bring him fresh croissants, muffins, baguettes and even specialty focaccias every day.

This Father’s Day, give your dad what he really wants. Let him look forward to visiting worlds beyond his imagination, to trying something new, to whetting his appetite with authentic delectable foods at sea and above all, to having the greatest experience of his life on an MSC cruise.
