Throughout the history of Playa Hotels & Resorts, we have demonstrated unwavering support for the Travel Agent community. And as many of you know, Playa not only views the travel trade community as a partnership but as a part of the greater Playa family. In my time working with Playa I have launched a multitude of incentive programs that set us apart from the rest, and I would like to share with you some of the most valuable

1. Playa believes in helping grow your business

In early 2015, we replaced our original commission booster with a new program called AgentCASH. The purpose of the program is to help agents generate additional income when booking a guest for more than 3 nights; on top of their current commission. In addition to this incentive, if an agent books the guests at least 15 days in advance they are given the opportunity to send a complimentary welcome amenity directly to their client's room with their compliments.

2. Playa believes you should enjoy what you sell

Playa believes that to be successful at selling a product, you must know the product intimately. The concept of Learn, Enjoy and Experience is at our core as shown by the number of organized FAM trips hosted yearly. These trips are customized based upon the attendees to ensure that agents become experts in all things Playa. On these all-inclusive trips, we pull out all the stops, leaving nothing for the imagination. I'm confident anyone who has ever experienced a Playa FAM will agree! The best part? Any agents who want to travel on their own can benefit from industry rates (based upon occupancy and excluding certain blackout dates, of course).

3. Playa believes in relationships

Since inception, we believe in the importance of relationships and our relationships between our agents and BDMs are second to none. We pride ourselves on providing unparalleled service both on the property and in the field. Getting to know our agents personally to better understand what's important to them is our priority. It is these types of relationships that we not only appreciate but help our company succeed. Regardless of if it's a question or providing feedback on a recent experience, our agents know they can reach out. Did I mention we're available 24/7?

4. Playa believes our partners should be in the Spotlight

In 2016, we launched the Playa's Spotlight Awards which were created to highlight our top partners for their dedication and support throughout the year. As part of the perk, our top selling agents are invited to spend a weekend enjoying the resorts they work so hard at selling all year long. This past January, we celebrated in Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay and agents were among the first to experience the brand new Barefoot Jerkz restaurant.

5. Playa believes in marketing

Whether it's placing an ad in Travel & Leisure featuring a Travel Agent CTA or providing customized co-op marketing collateral through our Travel Agent Portal, the Playa marketing team is here to support agents every step of the way. Even better? We listen. In 2016, Travel Agents told Agent@Home magazine that marketing help was needed. We launched a dedicated automated marketing program providing social content to agents on a weekly basis shortly following. If you have a new idea or one-off request, it's welcomed! Since the inception of Playa Hotels and Resorts over ten years ago, we've worked tirelessly to invest in a product that ensures travel agent success.
