The Great Gastby lives in a rather delicious form.

Digg spotted the following video, which highlights 13 sandwiches that pepper this wonderfully exquisite world in which we live.

Consider this a taste of what is out there if you decide, wisely we might add, to dig into the bottomless pit of delectable treats around the globe.

The video comes by way of YouTube channel Food, People, Places, which might just be one of our favorite video outlets at the moment.

For one of its most recent, the YouTube channel delivers what is figuratively a culinary lineup akin to what you might see at an MLB All-Star game.

If you don’t have the time, the YouTube description supplies a handy roster of what is displayed, including the “Gatsby Sandwich from South Africa” and the brilliantly simple “Cucumber Sandwich from Great Britain.”

The channel does more than offer a reason to salivate, because it delivers a means to sate your hunger at its website. Recipes are promised in the near future.

Back in 2014, Thrillist posted a list of 24 International sandwiches and even highlighted the Gatsby’s origins: “Gatsbies were said to have been birthed in 1976 in Cape Town by an industrious fish and chips shop owner, Rashaad Pandy, who — upon running out of fish — had to find a way to feed a boatload of hungry day laborers.”

One sandwich that has become increasingly ubiquitous, even in the states, is the Vietnamese Banh Mi, so try one out and consider it a taste test to your next trip.

As we noted previously, cities like Los Angeles offer a truly fantastic primer to International treats as seen in the following BuzzFeed video:

We hate to drop this video on you, especially if you are suffering from the pangs of serious hunger.

But we hope this video did for you what it did for us. Now our mouths are watering for sustenance as our souls hunger for travel.

We now have a long list of sandwiches to cross off the ol’ bucket list.

Gabe Zaldivar The Main Course

Gabe Zaldivar Born on the rough streets of suburban West Covina, I learned a great many things, some of which has proved useful: knowing the tell-tale sounds of an ice cream truck and crafting a world-class burrito come to mind. You have seen my work on Bleacher Report and possibly my mug on CNN. Perhaps, if you are into archaic modes of entertainment, you have also heard me on the radio. Pop culture is my beat. If it has to do with the intersection of travel, entertainment and pop culture, I'm your guy.
