It’s hard to enjoy your vacation when it rains, but it doesn’t mean you should let it prevent you from having a good time.
Xcaret details how to still have fun even if it’s raining during your visit to Playa Del Carmen.
For starters, one activity that is fantastic when it's raining is swimming in the underground rivers at Xcaret. The water still feels great and the sound of rain can be soothing.
Sticking with the underground theme, get out and explore the caves of Xcaret. Per the Xcaret blogger, here “you will find a beautifully lit underground world that will guide the Mayan Village, through a place full of windows to the crystal clear waters, owl men and other surprises.”

Another fun thing to do during the rain is to visit the Coral Reef Aquarium. If you’re wanting to stay dry but still experience the depths of the ocean, this is a perfect spot for you to see over “5,000 organizations in a marine habitat of colorful gardens.”
Additionally, you can go to the highest part of Xcaret Park to the Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi. With lovely architecture to keep you covered and sensational views, you’ll forget it’s raining.
