If you haven't been to Lowcountry South Carolina in the summer, then you haven't experienced a real southern coastal vacation. And with the summer comes the best that resorts in the area have to offer. Celebrations of the high season are marked with festivals, grand openings, and renovation debuts. Seasonal specialties are showcased at markets, restaurants, and galleries.

Wild Dunes Resort, located on Isle of Palms just a few minutes from downtown Charleston, South Carolina, offers up 1,600 acres of beachfront property with incredible features, great golf, and fantastic culinary choices. This summer the resort is welcoming in the season with a refresh to all menus featuring a variety of Lowcountry cuisine and Southern-inspired food and beverages.

The Sea Island Grill is now offering a variety of new creative cocktails and new bites such as Smoked Salmon Sliders with benne seed mayo, Charleston Blue Crab Dip, and Pimento Cheese with kettle-cooked pork rinds (does it really get more southern than Pimento Cheese and Pork Rinds?!)

The Lettered Olive Restaurant & Lounge is debuting its new daily dinner buffet offerings ranging from a Southern-inspired supper of fried chicken with all the fixins to a chef-carved prime rib dinner to a seafood feast of salmon, clams, mussels, fried cod, peel & eat shrimp, and homemade crab cakes. Or try their Lettered Olive Burger with Firefly Peach-caramelized onions and smoked peppered bacon. (Firefly Peach is a sweet tea-infused vodka. Holy yum!)

The Grand Pavilion Bar & Grill welcomes you to the south with their new Southern Cooler with Flor de Cana rum and white peach puree as well as the Back Bay Bloody Mary with vine-ripened tomato puree. Their menu is a perfect accompaniment to the tropical drinks and cold beer that they serve at the end of the boardwalk. Expect burgers, salads, and wraps and if you are looking for special, goo with the Surfs Up Hoagie with bay shrimp, lump crab, lobster, lime mayo, and radish sprouts on a hoagie roll.

Bring yourself to the beach and enjoy the new summer selections at all of Wild Dunes Resort's restaurants and experience everything the Lowcountry has to offer.

Guests can also turn a meal into a getaway with a number of specials and packages available at the Wild Dunes website
