Just yesterday, the UN World Tourism Organization's (UNWTO) World Tourism Barometer showed growth in the Asia Pacific as being a growth leader in world tourism.
No wonder then that Reed Travel Expeditions is putting Asia up front in its series of International Luxury Travel Markets (ILTM). Two shows based in Asia are front and center in Reed's line-up of ILTMs around the world. The ILTM Asia will take place in Shanghai from June 2 to 5 and the ILTM Japan will take place in Kyoto from March 17 to 19.
Some 70 percent of the buyers attending the ILTM Japan will be first time attendees. Reed Travel operators of the ILTM shows point out that more than half the global population of high-net worth individuals reside in the U.S., Japan and Germany. The ILTM Japan is entirely dedicated to the high end Japanese luxury travel sector. Ritz Carlton, Best of the Alps, Sun International, Alilia Hotels and Resorts, Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok and Ayana Resort and Spa are among those international brands that have already confirmed their attendance.
The ILTM Japan Opening Forum will address issues related to domestic elite travel community and those visiting international suppliers of luxury travel products present. Buyers and exhibitors will then begin two days of one to one appointments - pre-selected by both parties. Each buyer is accredited to ensure they meet the criteria to attend and is then fully hosted at the event by ILTM.
The eighth ILTM Asia will come to Shanghai from June 2 to 5 at Shanghai's. The eighth edition of International Luxury Travel Market Asia will bring together up to 550 high-end travel agents from across Asia to design 2015 itineraries for their clients.
According to Reed Travel, creators of the show, "The number of high net worth individuals in the Asia-Pacific region is set to rise by 88 percent over the next decade, the joint highest rate of growth in any world region, matched only by Latin America. By 2030, 49 percent of all global passenger traffic will be within the Asia-Pacific or between the region and the rest of the world, with India, China and Indonesia dominating the region's travel expenditure.
ILTM Asia 2014 will welcome up to 550 luxury travel brands and experiences from approximately 20 countries across the world. The 550 buyers will be identified and invited from 20 countries across the Asia Pacific including China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Korea and Singapore. Confirmed exhibitors include The Peninsula Hotels, Orient Express Hotels, Ritz-Carlton Hotels, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, Shangri-La Hotels, Virgin Limited Edition, Oetker Collection and Four Seasons as well as Aqua Expeditions, Heavens Portfolio, XO Private and Design Hotels.
Besides ILTM Japan and ILTM Asia , Red Exhibitions will be running four other ILTM shows including ILTM Africa: Cape Town, April 28 to 30; ILTM Americas in Mexico, Sept. 22 to 25; ILTM Spa in London, Oct. 1 to 3; and the gran daddy of them all, the ILTM: Cannes, Dec. 1 to 4.
