The Travvys and Travel Talent for Tomorrow
We are quickly approaching the deadline to enter the 2016 Travvys, the travel industry award that is voted on by the greatest number of travel agents in the United States. Since travel agents are key to the Travvys, and the success of the many suppliers and destinations who have entered, it’s fitting to announce a new partnership that will help travel agents grow and succeed.
In conjunction with Tourism Cares, ASTA and Marriott International, travAlliancemedia is funding the launch of the Travel Talent for Tomorrow Mentoring Program. My company's contributions to this program will be tied to our 2016 Travvys. We are taking a portion of the entry fees and helping Tourism Cares launch a program that will raise the level of talent in the travel agency channel.
This benefits the agency community and the suppliers and destinations they sell. I couldn’t think of a better program to announce our first Travvy Award program designed to give back to the travel industry. If you’re still waiting to enter, don’t delay, as the deadline will be here before you know it.
Succeeding in any business requires the ability to adapt to a changing landscape and to constantly reinvent. I’ve watched travel agents do this better than any other industry, or small business segment, over the past 25 years. When we launched the Travvys just this past year, we wanted to bring agents to the forefront in determining who is the best in travel. They did that: recognizing dozens of companies in every segment of travel, as well as destinations, for our 2015 winners.
Now it’s your turn to see if you can be the best in travel for 2016, and to carry that recognition all year long. Your entry fee will give you that chance, and give travel agents a chance to be part of an all-new mentoring program under Tourism Cares.
The 2016 Travvys will feature both gold and silver winners in each category. We will also feature additional programs where your participation will generate additional gifts to support the travel industry and all it does to help people move forward. Our gift to Tourism Cares is just the beginning, as we will be announcing new partnerships in the months ahead.
