OSSN to Present Webinar on DOT Consumer Protection Rules

January 12, 2012 10:30 PM

New Department of Transportation consumer protection rules are going into effect Jan. 24 and 26 and will have an impact on travel agents who sell air. To help travel agents make sure they comply with these rules, the Outside Sales Support Network (OSSN) has teamed up with travel attorney Alexander Anolik on a special travel law webinar on Thursday, Jan. 19 (4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT) giving agents a detailed explanation of the new air travel rules and tips for complying with them fully. This 60-minute webinar is open to all agents at no charge.

"Too many agents think these regs don't apply to them, and that's wrong," Anolik said. "I'll break down the four major areas of responsibility facing agents and give them some ideas about complying fully to avoid getting dragged into DOT enforcement actions that could add up to big bucks."

The four areas are the full-fare advertising law, baggage fee disclosure, opt-out prohibition and post-purchase price increases.
