The Preferred Hotel Group, a global provider of sales, marketing and distribution services to independent hotels, continued to expand its family of brands during the second quarter of 2012 with the addition of 19 new hotels, including its first member hotel in the country of Georgia, Hotel Kabadoni. The company also saw an increase in reservation revenue and expanded its distribution channels by launching all its member hotels on RoomKey.com.
New members joining Preferred Hotel Group include Preferred Hotels & Resorts members The Plaza (Seoul, South Korea) and Gran Meliá Rome (Rome, Italy); Preferred Boutique members La Maison Favart (Paris, France) and La Residence Mykonos (Mykonos, Greece); Summit Hotels & Resorts members Pacific Palms Resort (City of Industry, Calif.) and The Limelight Hotel (Aspen, Colo.); and Sterling Hotels and Sterling Design members Madera Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Hotel Stein (Salzburg, Austria), The Paragon Hotel (Birmingham, U.K.) and Casa Andina Select Miraflores (Lima, Peru).
During the second quarter, the company saw a 16 percent gain year-to-date in reservations made via its distribution channels, and an increase in its reservation revenue of 21 percent in comparison to the second quarter last year. In addition, Preferred Hotel Group became the first “soft brand” invited to join RoomKey.com, the innovative new hotel search engine owned by six of the world’s leading hotel companies. This action provided Preferred member hotels a brand new distribution channel from which to grow their reservation revenue.
To mark the one-year anniversary of Preferred Family, a collection of more than 200 family certified hotels worldwide, the company launched a dedicated website in June. This comprehensive family travel resource includes search functionality, discussion on current news and travel trends, and itineraries for family adventures in key cities around the world.
