Runzheimer International has announced the beta launch of SmartTrip, a corporate travel solution designed to reward employees for booking low-cost travel, while giving businesses better ways to manage and enforce corporate travel policies. SmartTrip provides a unique incentive structure that maximizes savings for companies and provides flexibility to employees booking travel.
To use SmartTrip, a traveler enters their trip details, and the system will calculate the estimated cost utilizing Runzheimer International's industry-leading travel benchmarks. Then, the traveler uses their preferred booking method -- comparing their travel arrangements to the defined benchmark for the trip. SmartTrip then measures the difference between actual expenses and the benchmark, with the goal being for the employee to "beat" the benchmark. If they remain at or under the benchmark cost, the employee is rewarded and the company saves. Companies can customize benchmarks to meet their needs and all costs are tracked through their expense management solution.
