Sea Kayak Adventures is offering a a classic Baja expedition in Baja California, Mexico’s desert peninsula, from Loreto to La Paz, considered to be one of North America’s best warm-water paddle destinations. Participants paddle a remote roadless coast of Baja few people ever see. The trip is fully guided; no experience is necessary. Clients often see blue whales -- the largest animal on earth. Sea of Cortez is home to a third of the world’s whale species. The trip will take place Oct. 25 to Nov. 5 with 13 participants.

Guests will paddle kayaks an average of five to six hours per day for 10 days, along a 70-mile stretch of isolated, roadless coast between the towns of Loreto and La Paz. Along the way they’ll seek close encounters with whales, snorkel over reefs in 72-degree water and hike up headlands offering panoramas of wild coastline and scattered islands. The Sierra de la Gigantas’ towering volcanic escarpments plunge dramatically into the Sea of Cortez. Pink, yellow and green cliffs create a colorful backdrop as guides set up camp in sheltered coves. Previous kayaking experience is not necessary. Participants should, however, be reasonably healthy and fit to paddle five to six hours per day. Stable two-person Seaward fiberglass expedition sea kayaks and instruction, all paddling gear, camping supplies and meals are provided.
