Seabourn World Cruise Lineup Includes Rita Rudner, NASA Astronomer

Seabourn Cruise Line’s 116-day World Cruise in 2013 will include comedienne Rita Rudner, NASA astronomer Dr. Norman Caisse and satirical author Christopher Buckley. Seabourn Quest’s World Cruise will depart Jan. 6 from Fort Lauderdale and end in Venice, Italy, on May 3.

Caisse will be onboard Jan. 16 to 30, and Rudner April 27 to May 3. Buckley, the American political satirist and novelist, is scheduled to sail March 26 to 31. Others scheduled to lecture are Dr. Roderick A. McDonald, Caribbean and Latin American historian, Jan. 6 to 16; Dr. Michelle Craig McDonald, professor of Early American, Caribbean and maritime history, Jan. 6 to 16; Dr. Adrian Kerr, author and historian in ancient civilizations, April 8 to 21; Farhana Qazi, expert on Middle Eastern political conflicts, April 12 to 23; Peter Martin, commander of the Royal Australian Naval Reserve, Feb. 22 to March 2; Col. Ralf Vargas, former chief of the NATO Situation Center, April 23 to May 3; Dr. Lawrence Blair, documentarian on Indonesia, March 1 to 23; and Paul Deegan, mountaineer who climbed Mount Everest, March 9 to 19.

The World Cruise will sail in the South Pacific, Australia, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, India, Arabia and the Mediterranean. Rates for the full cruise begin at $51,999 per person, based on double occupancy, including roundtrip air and other complimentary amenities. Shorter segments are available from 21 days, with rates starting at $10,999 per person including air, based on double occupancy.
